John Truscott is one of Michigan’s most respected experts on effectively communicating with the public, elected officials, and other key decision-makers.

With his ability to craft innovative messaging strategies and foster relationships with corporate leaders, healthcare professionals, and key policymakers, John has been honored as the top public affairs professional in the MIRS/EPIC-MRA biennial survey of Capitol insiders for the last decade.

Before founding his public relations firm, John served as the Director of Communications and Press Secretary to Michigan Governor John Engler. John became one of the longest-serving gubernatorial press secretaries in the country while successfully spearheading key statewide campaigns and taking pivotal roles in national political operations.

His company's merger with The Rossman Group marked the inception of Truscott Rossman, which has become the largest and most trusted Michigan-owned public relations agency in the state, distinguished by its expertise in corporate and strategic communications.

John is also a thought leader in the communications industry, contributing his insights as a speaker at numerous conferences. His commitment to enhancing communication strategies extends internationally, as he has shared his expertise with global political figures.

John also serves on many boards, including the Michigan Chamber of Commerce and the Grand Rapids Economic Club. His strategic input is also valued on the boards of several environmental and financial institutions, including the Dart Bank Board of Directors.

John is a graduate of Michigan State University and grew up in Lansing.
