Truscott Rossman’s Growth Strategy
Expanding Talent, Services, and Innovation for the Future
We’re growing at Truscott Rossman.
We hired three new team members just this month: Project Manager Taylor Zdanowski, Senior Director of Public Affairs Chris Moyer, and Vice President of Business Development and Marketing Ryan Brown. We are all excited to have them on the team at TR. This growth is deliberate. Our business is evolving at a pace we couldn’t have imagined just a few years ago. Alan Deutschman wrote in his book that you either “change or die.” Well, I’m not ready to die, and I’m excited about the change. There is a lot more going on at TR than just a few new hires. We’ve radically changed our business and services.
“Alan Deutschman wrote in his book that you either ‘change or die.’ Well, I’m not ready to die, and I’m excited about the change. ”
For example, almost two years ago, we acquired a marketing firm.
This gave us the creative capabilities we used to subcontract to other firms. With the digital world moving at a rapid pace and visuals being crucial for capturing attention, this creative talent took us to the next level. Traditional earned media remains relevant, and we excel in it. However, if that’s our only means of communicating with the public, we’re missing a significant portion of the audience.
Therefore, we have chosen to deliver an “all-of-the-above” approach to our clients. And it’s changing all the time.
As attention spans shorten and audiences splinter, we’re using all of the techniques and technologies to reach people. We still rely on our solid communication skills and ability to tell a story. Not doing so would be like a trained chef leaving ingredients out of the recipe and expecting it to taste the same.
We are embracing the Entrepreneurial Operating System.
Importantly, we are building and growing based on what we’ve learned by participating in the EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) process. We have learned a great deal about setting goals, planning, and then executing. And if you’re going to grow, you need the infrastructure and process to achieve the goals you’ve set. Ultimately, we hold ourselves and our entire team accountable for delivering on our promises. A crucial principle for growing your business is to retain the current clients you already have.
